LEAD ME TO MOUNT CALVARY, 2014

Paper, plastic, resin, wood.
Mount Calvary was, according to the gospels, a site immediately outside Jerusalem’s walls where Jesus was crucified. Calvary, also called Golgotha, means “a skull”, but also points out an experience of extreme suffering.
ANNA AGTMA’s assemblage artwork “Lead me to Mount Calvary” reflects on mutation, protest, extreme sport, drugs, breakdown and strike, but makes nonetheless an appeal to beauty and reflection.
